Website overhaul leading to improved customer experience
As part of their website audit, NTWRK analysed Darryl Hathway Painting and Decorating’s Website performance using Lighthouse. The results were disappointing with both desktop and mobile scores in the red, indicating poor page load speed.
Diving deeper into the analytics using PageSpeed Insights, the team identified issues pertaining to page elements (plugins) and unoptimised images as main contributors of the website’s poor performance.
To address these critical issues, the team manually crafted HTML (template), CSS (styling) and JS (logics), in order to produce lighter-to-render responsive web pages. Further, through the use of Content Delivery Network (CDN), the team was able to reduce the latency for static content assets such as libraries and compressed images. Third-party dependencies were also minimised in order to prevent bloated and unnecessary reliance, and to improve site security.
