A partnership powering the future

Gavin Hodgins is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of FloatPac, a state of the art Australian-owned business based in Melbourne. With over 35 years of experience in research and development, manufacturing, design, and supply of a range of innovative products, Gavin was ready to take FloatPac on one of its most ambitious projects to date: floating solar power.

FloatPac’s move into green and sustainable energy is a natural progression for the business, allowing Gavin to apply the expertise and learnings gained from FloatPac’s other lines of business such as FishPac, FlexiTank, and RainPac.

FloatPac’s floatovoltaic system provides 100% recyclable, UV-stabilised, rot and mould resistant floatation pods that together increase efficiency, space utilisation, and water conservation. But being relatively new technology in an emerging industry, Gavin noticed a lack of awareness surrounding floating solar power, as well as general scepticism carried over from the limitations of land-based systems.

In September 2018, Gavin approached NTWRK to work out a plan forward for his brand and its cutting-edge system. With this objective in mind, NTWRK assessed the business against the market and determined that FloatPac’s unique value proposition put it at an advantage to build brand and product awareness, interest, and conversations.

After identifying key audiences that the business should be speaking to, the team at NTWRK put together a plan that included a strong focus on paid media and producing original content – something FloatPac’s competitors severely lack.
